Sellaronda Bike Day 2027: dates and road closures.

On two Saturdays a year the four Sellaronda passes are for bikes only. Here are the 2027 dates, which roads close and when, what to do if you are travelling by car or motorbike that day, and how to take part by bike.
In short
In 2027 the Sellaronda Bike Day is on Saturday 5 June and Saturday 11 September. From 9 am to 4 pm the Gardena, Sella, Pordoi and Campolongo passes are closed to motor traffic, cars and motorbikes included, and open only to bikes: 53 km with 1,600 m of climbing, anticlockwise, no registration. If there are many cyclists, the police may reopen the roads later.

By car or motorbike: which roads close.
From 9 am to 4 pm the four passes around the Sella group are closed to motor traffic: only emergency and organisers' vehicles may pass. If there are many cyclists, the traffic police may reopen the roads after 4 pm.
South Tyrol side
In 2026 the order of the Government Commissioner in Bolzano closed the SS 242 from Piazza Nives in Selva di Val Gardena to the Sella Pass; the SS 243 from the junction with the SS 242 to Corvara (Burjè road); the SS 244 from Corvara to the Campolongo Pass. The stretch from Selva to Plan (Hotel Alpino) reopened at 10 am.
Pordoi and the Fassa side of the Sella
The Pordoi Pass and the Sella Pass from the Val di Fassa and Arabba side are closed too: the whole four-pass loop is closed.
What to do
If you are travelling by car or motorbike, avoid the Sella loop between 9 am and 4 pm that day, or ride it the day before or after. The closures only concern the roads of the four passes.
By bike: how to take part.
No registration
It is not a race: it is free, there is no registration and you can start wherever you like, for example from Selva, Corvara, Arabba or Canazei.
Anticlockwise
Ride the loop anticlockwise and always keep right: Sella, Pordoi, Campolongo and Gardena, starting from Selva.
For everyone
Families, tandems, e-bikes and special bikes share the road: ride with care and respect. Everyone can stop or end the loop whenever they want.
