In short
The San Pellegrino Pass (1,918 m) links Moena, in Val di Fassa, with Falcade and the Biois valley, in the province of Belluno. It separates the Fassa Dolomites to the north from the Pale di San Martino to the south.
Updated October 2026What it is like to ride.
The SS 346 is short but steep: on both sides it reaches an 18% gradient, and the Falcade side is the tougher one, with one hard stretch after another. On a motorbike, climb calmly and use engine braking on the way down. From Falcade you can carry on to the Valles Pass, whose road branches off a few kilometres from the village.
What to see.
The Col Margherita cable car leaves from the pass and climbs to about 2,500 metres, a viewpoint over the Dolomites. The name comes from the travellers' hospice founded in 1358; in winter the pass is the heart of the San Pellegrino ski area.
