Valparola Pass by motorbike.
In short
The Valparola Pass (2,192 m) links the Falzarego Pass with Val Badia (San Cassiano). It lies just a few kilometres above the Falzarego, yet it is one of the highest and most scenic passes in the Dolomites.
Updated October 2026What it is like to ride.
From the Falzarego the road climbs briefly through the Lagazuoi scree; the Val Badia side drops to San Cassiano and Armentarola via hairpins and long scenic stretches. It is the finest link between Cortina and Alta Badia.
What to see.
At the top stands Forte Tre Sassi, an Austro-Hungarian fort that now houses a First World War museum, with the small Lake Valparola just below. The Lagazuoi and the Sass de Stria rise above the pass.
